During the process of production and business, our company has constantly made efforts to implement seriously the work items relating to the environmental safety and health management system (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001). Thanks to the direction and active support from the agencies and departments, and with our efforts to deploy and implement seriously, in December 2009, Vedan Vietnam officially received the ISO 14001 Certification and OHSAS 18001 Certification granted by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
In 2017, Vedan Vietnam will continue to maintain and strictly implement activities relating to the policy and of the objectives of the environmental safety and health management system in the company, and expects to contribute our part to environmental protection and corporate social responsibility
Firstly, the ISO 14001 certification is the current environmental protection management standard and applied worldwide, with the aim to encourage businesses applying this management standard to achieve the goal of “Sustainable development, environment friendly“. Currently, in Vedan Vietnam, its environmental policy is “PROTECTING ENVIRONMENT FOR LONG-TERM BUSINESS” to express a concept that only protecting environment, the company could create long-term business. For corporate social responsibility, the company deeply understands it needs to have appropriate obligations and responsibilities.
Secondly, the Occupational Health Safety standard OHSAS 18001 is to ensure safety and hygiene working conditions in a company. Vedan Vietnam’s Occupational safety and health policy is “COMPANY’S SAFETY– HEALTH FOR PEOPLE”. With this policy, we want to lead all employees in the company to always uphold the concept of safety and occupational health with the goal to prevent risks from arising and causing harm to employees, property loss and damage to the working environment and thus to create a good working environment for employees.
The establishment of the above mentioned policy is the general orientation for all employees of the company to always uphold the concept on the love of the environment, occupational health and safety, compliance with the provisions of law, prevention of the environmental pollution, love of natural resources and maintenance of activities for improving and protecting the environment, ensuring the occupational safety and the environmental sanitation in the company. All employees must always keep in mind that love of the environment is a key factor to the company for achieving a long-term business and fulfilling its appropriate obligations to the social responsibility. Therefore, for the year 2017, the company has set out a number of goals, specific targets as follows:
