To create a useful playground for employees, bring solidarity between the units in the company, the approval and funding from the company’s Board of Directors, from April 3rd, 2017 to May 04th, 2017, Labor Union of Vedan Company solemnly held the 18th Vedan Cup football tournament in 2017 with the total funding of more than VND60 million.
The tournament is governed by the rules of mini football with 7 players (6 players + 1 goalkeeper). This year, there are 8 teams, including 160 employees, from departments and plants within the company taking part in the tournament, divided into 2 qualifying rounds. The 4 best teams will be in the semi-finals and the finalists.
After a month of qualifying, there were total 17 matches with 67 goals scored, 11 yellow cards, no red card. On average, each match had 3.9 goals, in each match was very attractive and attracted crowded audiences to see. With excellent performance, consistent technique, suitable tactics for every match, both the Coalition of MSG plant and By-product Processing Plant (N3) met in the final match. In the final match on May 4th, 2017, along with the enthusiastic cheers of the audience of two teams, including attendance of leaders of the company Vedan Vietnam, made the final match of this year accelerated and excited to the last minute. Thanks to the superiority of bodybuilding, technology, plus luck, the By-product Processing Plant team (N3) had a lucky goal, which was also the only goal of the match. With this result, the By-product Processing Plant team (N3) was crowned as the winner of this year’s tournament with the prize money of VND9 million, the cup and the flag of the organizers.
The Coalition of MSG plant became the former king and took second place in this year tournament. In addition, the co-third prize belonged to the inter-service division and the Maltose Plant. With six goals, Nguyen Quang Ngoc Tien became the scorer of the Vedan Cup in 2017, and Phan Thanh Nha was the best goalkeeper this year tournament.
The 2016 Vedan Cup football tournament is the 18th tournament organized annually by Vedan Labor Union. This is a traditional activity in the physical training and sports movement of the company’s employees in order to create a useful playground, strengthening the spirit of solidarity between departments and plants within the company. Thereby, it stimulates creative spirit, improves working efficiency, long-term commitment to the company, contributing to the company’s long-term sustainable development goals in Vietnam.
