The activity aims to introduce to domestic and foreign tourists special advantages, as well as the rich culinary culture of the land of “coconut land” in Ben Tre.
As part of chain of events on the 200th anniversary of the birth of famous man Nguyen Dinh Chieu (July 1st, 1822 – July 1st, 2022), Ben Tre province has set up a nomination dossier at the same time sent to the Vietnam Records Organisation (VietKings) and the World Records Union (WorldKings) to set the Vietnam Record and World Record for the event Cooking & Public Performance of 222 Dishes from Coconut.
The event Cooking & Public Performance of 222 Dishes from Coconut was conducted with the consultation of a panel of culinary culture experts and artisans from Research Institute of Preservation & Development of Vietnamese Cuisine, The Saigon Professional Chefs Association aims to guarantee the quality, as well as the presentation of the dishes at the event.
The dishes are made by a team of more than 60 chefs, divided into 11 teams to participate in the processing and performance with a variety of ingredients, but all have coconut ingredients such as coconut tuber, coconut fiber, dried coconut, coconut milk, fresh coconut water, coconut dream … The dishes show the richness in the combination of coconut and other ingredients with the creativity and variety in the chef’s processing to create unique, attractive dishes and good for the user.
The event contributes to introduce to domestic and foreign visitors the specialties of culinary arts and traditional dishes and drinks specialties of South Vietnam in particular and Vietnam in general; Especially, coconut food is a perfect combination of taste and sophisticated processing style to introduce to the public, serving visitors to Ben Tre.
