Illness does not spare anyone, but not everyone has the conditions to fight when the disease comes. For that reason, the program of free medical examination, treatment and distribution of medicines has been implemented by Vedan Vietnam Company (Vedan Vietnam) in collaboration with the medical team of Vinh Dan General Hospital (Taichung – Taiwan) into the 7th year with many meaningful values.
Caring comes from understanding
As one of the leading localities in socio-economic development, but in many remote areas of Dong Nai province, there are still many difficult situations and diseases, including many old and young people, ethnic minorities. With the criterion of “Development from society, dedication to society”, the charity medical examination program has been initiated by Vedan Vietnam in “homeland” Dong Nai since 2012. After 7 consecutive years of organization with total estimated budget of more than 14 billion VND, the program has helped more than 10,000 people and has become a meaningful volunteer journey in the most difficult districts and communes of the province such as Cam My, Dinh Quan, Nhon Trach, Tan Phu, Vinh Cuu…Silent efforts
In 3 days from July 31 to August 2, 2018, every day from early morning, hundreds of people gathered at medical examination locations in such districts as Thong Nhat, Long Thanh, and Vinh Cuu of Dong Nai province to wait for examination.
Most of the patients are from difficult circumstance, ethnic minorities have few opportunities to access large-scale medical examination and treatment programs
With austere face, wrinkled hands holding tightly to the order number, Mrs. Pham Thi Minh Hoa, now 78 years old, living in Thong Nhat district said that this was the first time the locality had had a large free medical examination and treatment event. The degenerative spine disease had tormented her for a long time and became more and more severe. Known that there were good doctors in Taiwan, she registered early for medical examination and consultation. “The doctor examines and asks questions very carefully. I am also given medicine, and can save money on medicine equal to my family’s monthly food,” said Mrs. Hoa emotionally.
All patients when they come to the examination are personally attended by a team of chief doctors with specialties such as general internal medicine, cardiology, obstetrics, otolaryngology, bone and joint, pediatrics, dermatology, etc., along with medical managers and pharmacists. devoted care. This year, the program also invested in an on-site diagnostic ultrasound room to make the medical examination process more efficient. For difficult cases, Vedan Vietnam also buys insurance and supports transferring to a higher level for timely treatment.
