In such a situation, Ly still helps her mother and tries her best to study, achieving 5 years in a row as a good student at the school.

Ninh Hong Duc, a 7th grader, Nguyen Trai Secondary School, Long Khanh town, suffered from “hydrocephalus” disease, since childhood had to have surgery to put fluid in the head, stiff limbs, difficulty walking, everyday his parents have to carry to school. However, for the past 6 years, I have struggled with illness, persevered in studying, tried to rise little by little to complete primary school and become a good student in grade 6 in the 2016-2017 academic year, at the same time achieving excellent students in solving math in Vietnamese on the Internet.

In parallel with the program “Supporting students with disabilities”, in recent years, the Provincial Study Promotion Association has also implemented the program “Support for the development of young talents” to create conditions for good students with difficult circumstances to continue studying to supplement high-quality human resources for the province and the whole country.

This is the 9th time the Provincial Study Promotion Association organizes the awarding of scholarships “Supporting the development of young talents”. This scholarship not only encourages students with difficult circumstances to excel in their studies, but also contributes to training high-quality human resources for the province in particular and the country in general. The scholarship level of 15 million VND per year for each student is really a lifesaver for poor students who study well. Up to now, more than 100 good and excellent students have received this scholarship with a total funding of more than 1 billion VND. Most of the scholarship recipients strive to study well. So far, 14 students have graduated with stable jobs. Some students with excellent academic records are retained to research and teach at universities, or continue to study abroad to improve their qualifications.

Dong Nai currently has more than 4,500 children with disabilities, of which more than 2,000 children have severe disabilities, mainly those with visual impairment, deafness, movement and neurological disabilities. Most children with disabilities are in difficult circumstances. Therefore, the scholarship program “Supporting students with disabilities to overcome difficulties to go to school” and “Training and developing young talents” are two programs with profound humanity and practical meaning, contributing to help poor students, students with disabilities and students who pass university exams with high scores but due to difficult circumstances have unfinished their studies in the province to continue to go to school, contributing to give wings to those who are struggling their dreams come true.
