On August 28, 2020, Vedan Vietnam Company accompanied with the People’s Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee of Nhon Trach District, the People’s Committee of Long Tan Commune, the Social Charity Branch of Long Thanh District to present 2 charitable houses (50 million VND per house) and many valuable gifts in Long Hieu hamlet, Long Tan commune, Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province.
The family of Mr. Nguyen Van Dong (1967) and Mrs. Le Thi Le Lang (1966) are near-poor households. The family has up to 6 members, the breadwinner is Mr. Dong, but he is sick, no longer able to work, all economic burdens fall on Ms. Lang’s shoulders. Although she has a seasonal job, Mrs. Lang has to raise a grandchild and a 16-year-old son who is learning a vocation. The family’s economic situation is difficult, so they lived from hand to mouth, only enough to take care of the daily meals. The house is covered with old-rotten corrugated iron, very hot and leaks a lot without conditions to repair. Receiving the decision to hand over the house, they were very emotional. He said: “She looks at the house every day, it’s like a dream! Thank you Vedan, thank you very much”.
The second house was given to the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Giau (1986) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue (1986) who are particularly difficult households in the area. They have 3 children who are studying, their wife is a worker, and their husband is a self-employed worker (whoever hires can do whatever they want), during the difficult epidemic season, they could not find a stable job, so their income was precarious. The children are at the age of adulthood, with the house with rotten corrugated iron roof, old plank walls, cement foundation, and rafters made of mixed wood, which have been seriously degraded, making the family more difficult and worried. Thanks to a donation of 50 million VND from Vedan company, each family member helped a little bit more and then together with Mr. Giau tried to build it themselves to save money, so the house was built very spaciously and extremely well warm with the affection of family and society.
Towards the 30th anniversary of establishment and development in Vietnam (since 1991), despite being heavily affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, Vedan Vietnam continues to promote social activities, accompanying with local government agencies sponsored more than 20 charitable houses, Red Cross houses, and great unity houses in 2020. Settling down and thriving, each spacious house built is a stable accommodation family, reduce economic burden, can focus on working and studying. Hopefully with their new house, they will be able to improve their lives, contribute to the construction and development of common life in the province in the near future.
“Development from society – Dedication to society” has always been the guideline for the voluntary activities of Vedan Vietnam Company to care and improve the quality of life for people, contributing to the development of the community.
