Since 2012, the annual charity medical examination and free medicine distribution program by Vedan Vietnam Company in conjunction with Vinh Dan General Hospital (Tai Chung – Taiwan) has helped tens of thousands of people in difficult circumstances of Dong Nai province have medical examination, diagnosis and treatment. Not stopping there, many difficult circumstances have been supported by Vedan Vietnam to transfer hospitals, donate wheelchairs, buy health insurance … From here, many unfortunate lives have been lit up with life force and gradually overcome the diseases.
Follow the red dirt road in Thong Nhat district to visit Mrs. Huan. The rickety old corrugated iron house, lived from hand to mouth that has almost no furniture, making us feel sad. She has 4 children, but they are all poor and cannot afford to eat, so now she lives alone. She even doesn’t remember whether she is 80 or 90 years old, but still remembers that Vedan Vietnam Company helped her with medical examination and gave her VND 10 million; she still saved her money to buy medicine, so these goiters are less large and she eats and talks more easily.
Visiting Mr. Pham Van Vinh (Long Thanh district, Dong Nai) with symptoms of swelling in the left tonsil area, he was advised by doctors to continue monitoring because of the risk of throat cancer, he could barely talk, walk or standing is also very difficult. The cost of medicine is a burden on the shoulders of a blind wife and two young children.
Similar to Vinh’s situation, Tran Thi Anh (who lives in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province) was also diagnosed with skin cancer by doctors, and needed to be transferred to a higher level hospital for monitoring and treatment. Her family is inherently difficult, Ms. Anh spent many sleepless nights knowing that she could not afford the treatment costs…
With the support of Vedan Vietnam, not only Mrs. Huan, Mr. Vinh, Ms. Anh… but also a lot of poor people in difficult circumstances have received medical examination and financial support, creating conditions for continued treatment. To do that, the local authorities and Vedan Vietnam company did not hesitate to go to remote areas of the province, learn about the patient’s situation in order to promptly take practical measures to help them overcome difficulties. The patient’s health recovery, the family’s joy and hope are the motivation for Vedan Vietnam’s journey together with the Love & Care community to become more and more meaningful.
