Vedan Vietnam “rescued” mangoes for farmers in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province

In early March 2020, more than 2 tons of mangoes of farmers in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province were “rescued” by Vedan Vietnam in the face of the risk of backlog, falling prices, etc. due to the influence of COVID-19 acute respiratory infection.

Facing with the complicated developments of the acute respiratory infection Covid-19, the economy in general and the agricultural industry in particular are being severely affected. Vietnamese agricultural products are suffering a lot of losses due to the suspension of exports. Many businesses and communities everywhere have rescued agricultural products such as dragon and watermelon, to help farmers in many localities overcome difficult situations.

After receiving information from the Dong Nai Farmers’ Association about the danger of mangoes coming to harvest but could not be exported, so the price fell, Vedan Vietnam Company immediately organized the purchase of more than 2,130 kg of mangoes at the garden with prices higher than traders’ prices, stabilizing the market. After that, mangoes were distributed to the company’s employees.
