With the theme “Strengthening evaluation and control of occupational safety and health risks and the participation of employees for assurance of occupational safety and hygiene; fire safety and prevention; Covid-19 epidemic prevention”, Vedan Vietnam organized many meaningful movement activities for more than 3,000 officers and employees on the occasion of the Action month for Labor safety and hygiene 2021. The most prominent activities are the Wall-newspaper contest.
This is one of the annual activities organized by the Board of Directors and the Trade Union of Vedan Vietnam Company, in order to actively respond to the month of OSH launched by the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province. This year’s series of activities were took place from May 1, 2021 to the end of May 31, 2021.
The Wall-newspaper Contest adheres to the principles of Covid-19 pandemic prevention while ensuring the spiritual life of employees through common activities.
In order to help employees gain a deeper understanding and be aware of the importance of OSH work, especially in the time when the Covid-19 epidemic is still complicated, this year’s the Wall-newspaper Contest not only highlights the top prize creative solutions from good employees for assurance of occupational safety and hygiene but also puts in the condition of proactive vigilance and response to the epidemic situation. With an interesting topic, a total of 17 departments and 26 individuals were excited to participate in the contest with works of investment in images, care and creativity in content. The award ceremony is expected to take place in early June, including 10 awards given to excellent teams and individuals, with a total prize value of more than 24 million VND.

Besides the Wall-newspaper contest, Vedan Vietnam continued to organize many other meaningful activities for employees in May 2021 such as: propaganda activities on OSH, fire safety and prevention, Covid-19 pandemic prevention… by sending propaganda contents on the company’s internal email system, hanging banners; voted to honor the departments that perform excellently in occupational safety in 2020; voted for employees doing good OSH work in 2020; as well as coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police of Dong Nai province to organize fire prevention and rescue drills. All activities were guaranteed to comply with epidemic prevention regulations such as: keeping a minimum distance of 2 meters, limiting 30 people per exam, implementing the 5K principle: face mask – disinfection – distance – no gathering – health declaration.
Towards the 30th anniversary of establishment and development (since 1991), with the policy of “Care for environment and Sustainable operation”, “Safe company – Healthy people” according to ISO 14001 and ISO standards 45001, Vedan Vietnam is particularly interested in activities for all employees. It is known that by the end of 2020, the company has been grateful to more than 1,200 employees with 20-25 years of experience, so with a total of 3,600 employees at Vedan Vietnam, there is 1 in every 3 employees working at the company for more than 2 decades. This is a proof to the efforts to improve the spiritual life, employee welfares, care to understand the actual needs of employees – worthy of the title of “Enterprise for employees” for many years of Vedan Vietnam Company.
