Responding to the month of occupational safety and health launched by the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, on the morning of June 10, 2019, the Board of Directors and Labor Union of Vedan Vietnam Company held an awarding ceremony for the “wall-newspaper contest” ” and “Employees doing good OSH work”.
As one of the activities in the Action Month on occupational safety and health 2019 organized by Vedan Vietnam, the contest “wall-newspaper contest” with the theme “Occupational safety, fire and explosion prevention” was held from May 1st to May 20th. In just 20 days of launching, the contest quickly attracted the participation of 24 collective works, 29 individual works from the company’s departments with creative and well-invested newspaper works in terms of artistic content.
At the award ceremony, 5 collectives and 5 employees who had excellent entries in the wall-newspaper contest were honored to receive the highest prizes with a total value of more than VND 40 million. In addition, in order to promote the spirit of active participation in the movement at the company, all teams and individuals participating in the contest even though they were not lucky enough to win prizes also received meaningful encouraging rewards.
During the program, the Board of Directors and the Labor Union of Vedan Vietnam Company also honored and awarded 39 employees doing good OSH and 3 departments with no occupational accidents in 2018. Total value of the prizes awarded at the program up to more than VND 100 million.
Since Dong Nai province launched “the Action Month on occupational safety and health”, Vedan Vietnam is one of the companies that actively organizes many useful propaganda activities and playgrounds to raise awareness about “safe working, ensuring occupational health and safety” for all employees. In May 2019, besides the “wall-newspaper contest” and voting for “employees doing good OSH work”, the company held a seminar “Strengthening assessment and management of risk occupational safety and health risks at work” and rehearsal of fire prevention and fighting were warmly responded by employees.
