Lunar New Year 2019 is coming very close. The atmosphere of shopping and preparing for Tet has begun to bustle in all parts of the country. However, in somewhere, Tet is not only a joy but also a worry of many families with difficult circumstances. Because for them, not only Tet but also the daily life have been extremely difficult.
On the eve of the Lunar New Year 2019, in order to promote the spirit of “good leaves protect the torn leaves” and continue traditional activities to help people welcome a cozy New Year, from January 24 to January 28, 2019, Vedan Vietnam Company (Vedan Vietnam) visited and gave Tet gifts to disadvantaged people in Dong Nai province.
On this occasion, Vedan Vietnam gave more than 1,000 gifts (each gift is approximately VND 600,000) including cash and necessities such as rice, cooking oil, Vedan MSG- seasonings… to people in communes of My Xuan, Phuoc Thai, Phuoc Binh, Tan Hiep, Bau Can, Binh An, Long Duc… in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province. In addition, Vedan Vietnam also cooperated with Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Newspaper to give Tet gifts to support poor children, female migrant workers, and poor women who cannot return to their hometown to celebrate Tet in Ho Chi Minh City.
Bright faces when receiving meaningful gifts, joys that cannot be expressed in words are memorable images at Vedan’s gift giving program. As one of the recipients of Tet gifts from Vedan Vietnam, Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Hien, from Phuoc Binh commune, touchedly shared: “Tet coming is really mixed with joy and sorrow for the whole family. If the family has a lot of money, Tet is the most happy, but in the category of “poverty eradication and poverty reduction” like my family, when I hear Tet, I feel anxious. I’m glad that this Tet, my family receives support from Vedan Vietnam. This Tet is much more completeness.”
Sharing about the meaning of the program, Mr. Tsai Ping Hsuan (Deputy Director of the President Office) on behalf of Vedan Vietnam said: “For many years, Vedan has been and continued to coordinate with departments and social organizations to share difficulties and take care of Tet for people. The gifts, in addition to material value, also contain the “Love and Care” of Vedan Vietnam’s collective with the recipients. Hopefully, with the help from Vedan, Dong Nai people will welcome a joyful and warm spring and be a motivation for them to overcome difficult circumstances, towards a better future.”
Giving Tet gifts to people in difficult circumstances is an annual activity of Vedan Vietnam for many years, demonstrating corporate social responsibility. This is an effort to implement the philosophy of “Development from society – Dedication to society” deployed by Vedan throughout the development process in Vietnam. Besides, programs such as charity medical examination and treatment, sponsoring scholarships, building charitable houses, donating to the Association of Victims of Agent Orange… with a total cost of about VND 5 billion per year are activities that Vedan Vietnam accompanies with social progress and realizes sustainable development goals in the coming years.
