In addition to production emulation, sports movements that both help train the body and promote an exciting spirit are a favorite activity in many collectives and businesses. At Vedan Vietnam Company, the football tournament “Vedan Cup” after 18 times organized, has not only become an interesting playground but also brings many values to the collective of more than 3,000 employees here.
As an annual movement in Vedan, the 19th “Vedan Cup” was held in April 2018, celebrating major national holidays. This year, the Football Tournament has attracted up to 10 participating teams, more than previous times. The participating teams invest more mentally and physically for the players. The organization of the tournament is also more focused.
The participating teams are divided into 2 groups in a round-robin format to find the 04 strongest teams to enter the semi-finals. After a month of fierce competition, from April 3 to April 28, the players brought to the audience moments of suspense and attraction with dramatic matches.
Convincingly in the group stage, the Starch Team won against the By-product Processing team through a dramatic penalty shootout in the semi-finals and qualified for the final. The opponent to compete for the championship cup with Starch Team in the deciding round is the Seniors Team who also performed very well in the group stage and won convincingly against MSG team with a score of 5 – 2 in the semi-finals.
The final match between Team Starch and Seniors Team is a match that many people expect and receive enthusiastic cheers from the audience. Taking place in favorable weather conditions, early on, a large number of fans came to cheer for the two teams. In the end, with creative and clever play, Starch team excellently defeated Seniors Team to win the football championship “19th Vedan Cup”.
At the awarding ceremony, Mr. Pham Trung Thuyen, President of Vietnam Vedan Labor Union affirmed: “Vedan Cup 2018 is a great sports festival for all company employees. This is an activity that Vedan Company maintains every year to create conditions for employees to exchange and exercise. The playground is an interesting spiritual food for sports lovers, and the tournament has contributed to orienting employees to live healthier and more active lives. Everyone can share the joy of playing with the spinning ball after hard work”.
The football tournament is an annual activity of Vedan Vietnam in response to the movement of the whole people to exercise and to launch a sports movement for all employees of the company.
