In order to summarize and evaluate the results of the Union work and youth movement in the term 2014 – 2017, on March 19, 2017, the Executive Committee of the grassroots Youth Union of Vedan Vietnam Company solemnly held the Seventh Congress of HCM Communist Youth Union of Vedan Company term 2017 – 2019. Attending the Congress were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat – Deputy Secretary of Long Thanh District, Mr. Pham Trung Thuyen – Secretary of Vedan Viet Nam Company’s Party Committee, representatives of Phuoc Thai and Long Phuoc commune unions, representatives of leaders of Vedan Vietnam Company, representatives of grassroots labor unions of Vedan Vietnam company, representatives of Vedan Vietnam company’s self-defense platoon, the former Secretary of the grassroots Youth Union over the term and more than 80 youth union members in the company.
The grassroots youth union of Vedan Company was established in 2003, is one of the first youth union units in foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam with the initial membership of 12 members and up to now there are now more than 80 members. The grassroots youth union of Vedan Company is the core force, the reserve army of the Party Committee of Vedan Company, the storm-troops of the company. During the operation, the grassroots youth union of Vedan Company always received the attention, help and favorable conditions from the company’s Board of Directors, the district youth union, and the Party Committee. Therefore, the grassroots youth union of Vedan company always maintains and operates well, specifically: the company supports monthly operating expenses; create conditions for grassroots Youth Union to have regular activities once a month, have its own youth union office, regularly support the organization of union movement activities such as: maintaining and updating the grassroots youth Union’s bookcase including 01 Diary of following Uncle Ho’s orders, participating in political training classes, training in Youth Union skills, organizing “Return to the roots” trips to review the nation’s glorious historical tradition and improve the quality of life solidarity among members. Social and volunteer activities “when drinking water, remember its source, repay somebody for his favor”: The grassroots Youth Union of Vedan company organized a visit and gave gifts to children at Long Phuoc Dien buddhist monastery on the occasion of International Children’s Day 01/06, participated in giving gifts with the theme “Summer of love” at Phuc Lam shelter and book festival “relay to school” in Toc Tien commune, Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, the group organized the activity “love Christmas” at Thi An shelter; support to buy 15 tickets (200,000 VND/ticket) to watch the reformation program “Going through the stormy season” with the theme “Soldier’s gratitude” organized by Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial Youth Union of Fire Prevention and Fighting to create funds for the Youth Union to participate in social security activities, build houses of gratitude and love for disadvantaged families in the province. At the same time, it is in charge of giving scholarships to students in difficult circumstances for Vu Thi Huyen Trang – Phuoc Thai Primary School, Do Thi Quynh Nhu – Phuoc Binh Primary School and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep – Phuoc Thai Primary School with each scholarship is 200,000 VND/month/child. With specific and practical movements, the grassroots youth union of Vedan company was honored to receive the certificate of merit “The grassroots youth union achieved good achievements in children’s work and the Youth Union movement in 2015” awarded by Dong Nai Youth Union, Certificate of Merit “The grassroots youth union has achieved good achievements in children’s work and youth union movement for the term 2012 – 2017”, “The leading unit of the business sector in the youth union work and youth movement” and “Successfully accomplished the tasks of Youth Union and youth union movement for the term 2014 – 2017” awarded by Long Thanh District. At the Seventh Congress of HCM Communist Youth Union of Vedan Company term 2017 – 2019 elected outstanding members to the Executive Committee for the new term. In the next term, the grassroots youth union of Vedan Company has set out a specific and practical direction associated with the criteria, tasks and resolutions of the congress, and at the same time continues to strive and complete well set goals and tasks, promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity and innovation in activities, contribute to introduce the core force for the Party Committee of Vedan company, contribute to build the Vedan youth force creatively, strongly, long-term working at Vedan Vietnam company.
