On the morning of May 30, Vedan Vietnam in collaboration with the Dong Nai City Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, conducted its annual Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue Drill.
The exercise was organized as part of the 2026 Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health, aiming to strengthen employees emergency response capabilities while reinforcing the company’s safety culture. As one of Vedan Vietnam’s annual safety initiatives, the drill helps enhance incident preparedness and foster a safer, more collaborative working environment.
This year’s simulated emergency scenario involved a fire that broke out during reinforcement welding on the chassis of a 45-seat passenger bus. Sparks from the welding operation ignited oil-soaked cleaning rags in an area where fuel vapors had accumulated, resulting in a rapidly spreading fire and the emergency evacuation of workers.
As soon as the alarm sounded, employees immediately activated the company’s emergency response procedures, including reporting the incident, disconnecting the power supply, carrying out initial firefighting efforts, evacuating personnel and property, mobilizing emergency response teams, and rescuing injured victims. Each step was executed in a coordinated and systematic manner, demonstrating the company’s strong on-site emergency response capabilities and effective collaboration with professional firefighting and rescue forces.
Recognizing the commitment and cooperation demonstrated by all participants, Mr. Ko Chung Chih, Deputy General Director of Vedan Vietnam, said: “The greatest objective of every emergency drill is to help our employees remain calm, build confidence in responding to risks, and proactively protect themselves in emergency situations. In addition to the firefighting and rescue training, Vedan Vietnam has launched a series of activities under the 2026 Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health to further improve workplace safety. These initiatives include the seminar ”Occupational Safety – Risk Identification and Employee Partnership,” factory-wide awareness campaigns through banners, slogans, and LED displays, as well as the ”Golden Bell Challenge” competition on occupational safety knowledge.
